Over There - Waseca County in World War I

It was called the Great War, the War to End all Wars. President Woodrow Wilson tried to stay out of this war in Europe, even campaigned on it. But the politics and economics were overwhelming, so America began sending troops in 1918. It was not a long war, but it was overwhelmingly bloody and costly. So many lives lost in the trenches. There was new warfare using planes and tanks. See the faces of Waseca County men and boys who served “Over There”—those who came home, and those who did not.
