Janesville Old Town Farmers Club Minutes. Material: paper. Size: 8" x 10". Description: gray-blue heavy cardstock cover composition book containing ruled paper. Contents: membership list and minutes of 53 consecutive meetings at member homes beginning October 4, 1921 with an organizational meeting and ending with the 53rd meeting on January 2, 1925; the original members included 12 couples who farmed in the vicinity of the original Janesville "Old Town": E. D. Garlick, F. M. Smith, H. H. Storjohann, P. E. Reynolds, A. Schramski, William Cullen, Ray Truman, V. F. Paul, Arthur Mulcahey, Frank Cahill, Harold McCormack and Joe Schramski; most meetings were social and included plays, recitations, songs and lunches; other programs were a talk on a proposal for co-operative egg marketing by the county agent, W. A. Dickenson, a debate on more misery than happiness in the world, spelling bees, and a lecture and demonstration on phrenology.
Subsequent members of the Old Town Club were Lyness, John Storjohann, Walter Storjohann, C. L. Paul, J. Cahill, Marie Smith, Ruth Smith, L. E. Dare, Gertrude Storjohann, J. Mulcahey, Leo Cahill, Sadie McGuinness, Harol Klaes, August Berendt, Ed Berendt, Anna Berendt, Art Berendt, Esther Berendt, Tom and Marie Nicholson. These minutes were found in the estate of Janesville residents, Liz and Everett Stanke.
