Selective Service Medal of Dr. Clifford Wadd. Material: paper, textile, medal. (a) Selective Service Medal. Size: 2 7/8" W. x 1 1/2" L. x 1/4" D. Description: gold and royal blue striped grosgrain ribbon wrapped around and extending from a metal rectangular bar; safety pin style closure on reverse; suspended from the ribbon is a bronze disk featuring an eagle and stars and engraved: "Selective Services System World War II"; printed on reverse: "Awarded in the Name of the Congress of the United States for Faithful and Loyal Service". (b) Ribbon bar. Size: 3/8" W. x 1 3/8" L. x 1/4" thick. Description: gold and royal blue striped grosgrain ribbon over rectangular metal bar; safety pin style closure on back. [c] Lapel pin. Size: 1/8" W. x 3/4" L. Description: 1/2" diameter blue and gold enameled metal disk attached to a pin similar to a collar button. (d) Box. Size: 3 1/4" W. x 6 1/2" L. x 1" H. Description: a hinged dark blue rectangular box with gold border and gold print: "Selective Service Medal"; navy blue velvet and gold satin lining.
