Description: (a) white cardstock, quarter-folded; script on front: "Mr. & Mrs. Emerson Cole request your presence at the marriage of their daughter Daisy Mabel to Roscoe Percy Ward, Wednesday evening, August ninth, Eighteen hundred and ninety three at eight o'clock, 109 Oak Grove Street, Minneapolis". (b) Envelope for invitation with raised printer's name: "J.A. Schlener & Co.".
Emerson Cole was an early Minneapolis banker and lumberman who also had a legislative career (1891-1893); his other activities and associations included his Pioneer Savings and Loan Association presidency (1892-1902); H. Poehler and Company, Minneapolis grain dealers; Shattuck Military School, Faribault, Minnesota; Linwood Gun Club, Minneapolis; Um Zoo Wee Club, Minneapolis; Minneapolis Pen and Pencil Club; and Frontier Milling Company, Kenmare, North Dakota. His son-in-law was Alvin Poehler, a Minneapolis grain dealer. His daughter, Daisy Cole married Roscoe Percy Ward of Waseca.
