Description: color photo reprint of a collection featuring medals and ribbons awarded to Don Singlestad for service and bravery during World War II; some of the awards pictured are the Gold Cross for Help in the Liberation of Rome, Army Distinguished Cross, Italy Bronze War Cross, Iron Star, Purple Heart, Combat Action Badge, Rangers, Red Bull 34th Infantry Division as well as a Soldier's New Testament and Singlestad's personal dog tags; centered among the medals is a photo of Flo and Don Singlestad posing in a black and white photograph in 1944.
Donation of World War II artifacts commemorating T/Sgt. Sylvester Donald Singlestad's military service was received by Scott Singlestad from Don and Florence Singlestad's daughter, Debbra Sharkey. Singlestad lived until he was 93 years old and died in Park Rapids, MN. He is buried in the Minnesota State Veterans’ Cemetery at Little Falls, Minnesota.
