Remsen Corporation Recording Disc. Material: metal. Size: 7 1/2" diameter. Description: silver aluminum thin disk, grooved for home recording and playback; instructions ask that no metal needles be used with this disc but only a "fibre" needle such as those made from cactus in order to avoid groove damage.
This disc was the property of Marguerite Herbst an educator in the California school system; it contains a speech on education from an unknown speaker which has been transferred to a digital file by the donor. Found in the collection of sisters Luella and Marguerite Herbst. Donor, Joan Bierman is the donor of the Luella and Marguerite collection in 2013, and she is the granddaughter of their cousin, Bernie Bierman.
