Photograph Album of Marguerite Herbst 1913 to 1920s. Material: paper, metal, textile. Size: 8" x 11 1/2". Description: black textured hard cover with black cord spine tie holding pages in album; gold printed cover title: "Photographs"; contents are black and white photographs that Marguerite Herbst of Waseca took with her camera showing her life at an early age in Waseca, her neighborhood, family, friends and school life; one section is devoted to her college days at Winona where she attended for her normal school teaching certificate in about 1917 through 1919; another section contains photos from her first teaching position in Olivia where she celebrated the Armistice of World War I, peace celebrations with Uncle Sam mascots, her classroom students, and the Olivia High School basketball district champions of 1919; photos back in Waseca during her summer breaks show Waseca landmarks, fun on Clear Lake, old classmates now in military uniforms, automobiles of the era, North Star Park, Elk's Park, Elk Park, EACO Mill, Clear Lake, Loon Lake; more teaching experiences and photos in Fairmont. Selected photos from this album are found with accession numbers 75.13.5.2 through 75.13.5.65.
