This Waseca County woman was known as "Grandma" or "Mutti" Proechel, Mrs. Johan (John) Proechel, born Wilhelmina Fruch in Hermansdorf, Germany in 1817. Out of eleven children born to the Proechels, six died in Germany. The five remaining children in the United States were Mrs. Charles Monthey, Sam Proechel, Ernest Proechel, William Proechel and Fred Proechel.
