Silver Communion Service Meriden Church. Material: metal. (a) Wine Pitcher. Size: 5" diameter x 12" H. and extended side handle. Description: silver container with hinged lid, curved pouring spout and ornate side handle; cross symbol on lid top. (b) Wine Pitcher. Size: 7" diameter x 15" H. and extended side handle. Description: silver container with hinged lid, curved pouring spout and ornate side handle. (c,d) Communion Cup. Size: 3" diameter x 4 1/2" H. Description: silver cup tapers down to a narrow stem set on a circular base. (e,f) Communion Cup. Size: 3 1/2" diameter x 7" H. Description: silver cup tapers slightly to a stem that gradually widens to form the base; stamped inside base: "Pelton Bros., St. Louis, Triple plate". (g) Communion Paten. Size: 7" diameter x 5" H. Description: silver shallow bowl tapers to a short stem and extends to a wide base; stamped in base: "Manufactured and Plated by Simpson & Co., U.S.A. 1345". (h) Communion Paten. Size: 7 1/4" diameter x 6 1/2" H. Description: silver plated shallow bowl tapers to a short turned stem that extends to base; stamped inside base: " Pelton Bros,St. Louis, Triple Plate".
Communion Set from the Meriden, Minnesota Emanuel Methodist Church which later merged and became part of the Waseca Evangelical United Methodist Church congregation that voted to disband their congregation in 2013; communion set used from 1877-1917.
