Armour and Company was an American slaughterhouse and meatpacking company founded in Chicago, Illinois, in 1867 by the Armour brothers, led by Philip Danforth Armour. Artist and illustrator, Karl Anderson was the son of a Southern-born harness-maker and saddler and a mother of Austrian descent. He was was born in Morning Sun, Ohio on January 13, 1874 and died in 1956.
