Belt powered Smut Treater. Material: wood, metal. Size: 20" W. x 101" L. x 59" H. Description: metal bin; wooden elevator; chains missing; print on silver bin: "Am Grain Separator Co. Minneapolis USA"; print on red bin: "XL No. 16."
On loan to Farmamerica as of 2006. Before see fumigants were applied as dusts, formaldehude dips were used. This is a fancy outfit for dipping seed grain just prior to planting. Used by August Roesler about 1900.
