Military Shirt. Material: textile, plastic. Size: 30" x 19". Description: light brown cotton shirt,long sleeves, pointed collar, front closure with six brown plastic buttons; red, yellow and green bar pins above left front pocke; yellow eagle patch and blue bar pin above right front pocket; Tank Destroyer Battalion 899 logo patch on left shoulder; gray chevron patch on left sleeve; five yellow bars on lower left sleeve; gray chevron patch on right sleeve.
Lester Quitney was with the Tank Destroyer Battalion 899 for the United States Army from 1943-1945. He worked at a CCC Camp in Washington State in December 1941. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and served in Rhineland Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge), Central Europe, Northern France and Normandy until being honorably discharged in 1945.
