Herter Coompany Door. Material: wood, metal, glass. Size: 35" W. x 85" H. Description: darkly finished oak, lower oak single-panel, upper frosted glass panel lettered in black: "Herter's Importing Co. Office"; three hinges on one side, brass plate holds brass knob set (one knob missing); Argent lock set above handle.

Waseca business: Herter's Inc. Herter; Herters; Herter's. This door was located on the second floor of the Lewer building located at 118 South State Street. Herter's had their offices on the second floor and worked on decoys and other products on the third floor. There was a fire in the 1960s and the third floor was a complete loss. The door that was on second floor did not have any damage from the fire. After the fire Herter's moved everything to their new location at 1209 South State Street. When Henry Lewer retired from the auto business in the late 1990s and had his auction the Waseca County Historical Society acquired the Herter door.
