Copper Bead Love Necklace. Material: metal, plastic, textile. Size: 1/16" diameter x 15 3/4" L. Description: copper colored elongated beads strung on white nylon filament; two round brown metal beads centered with one blue plastic elongated bead placed at three intervals; metal screw type clasp at each end.

Handmade beaded necklaces called "love beads" were very fashionable in the late 1960s, and it became a fad to trade beads with friends as a universal symbol for brotherly love and acceptance. They could be any size or shape, exquisitely crafted or plain. Love beads were all you needed for the complete hippie look.
