Biermann Shaving Mug. (a) Mug. Material: ceramic. Size: 3 1/2" W. x 4 1/8" L. x 3 3/4" H. Description: white china; blue cloud-like pattern on one side provides back ground for black, white shadowed lettering: "W.M. Biermann"; cup handle extends from one side; straight sided mug with decorative designed base; stamped on bottom: "Minneapolis, etc." and VP L. France" . (b) Brush. Material: bristle and celluloid. Size: 1 1/4" diameter x 4" L. Description: ivory colored celluloid tooled knob; natural colored bristles extend from knob; stamped on knob top: "Klenzo B 985 USA Sterilized Badger Cased 250".
May be the personal shaving mug and lather brush of William Bierman donated to the museum by descendants Dorothy Bierman Kirby and Louise Bierman Salfeety when they visited the Waseca County Museum in 1975 as noted in a letter from Clara Bierman to Marguerite and Luella Herbst. See Archive 75.13.1.
