Comee Lodge Ribbons. (a) Ribbon Badge. Material: textile, metal. Size: 9" L, x 2 1/2" W. Description: reversible ribbon (black on one side red on the other) printed in silver "Comee Lodge, No. 25 I.O.O.F. Waseca, Minn."; gold metal with "Comee Lodge, No. 25," on first part; "Member" attached to second part, and "I.O.O.F." with Odd Fellows seal; label stamped on back "The Mclilley & Co. Columbus, O." (b) Box. Material: cardboard, metal. Size: 3 1/2" W. x 28" L. Description: brown cardboard; 4 metal staples on each end.
Waseca organization: Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.), a secret society for the mutual aid and benefit of the members, originated in England in the 18th Century. Odd Fellows Comee Lodge # 25 "Funeral Badge". Worn at services of deceased members. The Odd Fellows had elaborate ceremonies and helped in the burial of members.
