(d) Red Cross Pin. Material: metal. Size: 3/8" W. x 5/8" L. Description: gold - tear-shaped - stamped with a tiny red enameled cross outline in gold and set on a white enameled cross background - pin stick on back attaches to separarable clasp. (e) Red Cross pin. Material: plastic and metal. Size: 3/8" W. x 1 3/8" L. including stick pin. Description: red - tear-shaped - stamped with a red cross outlined in white - back stick pin. (f) LPN pin. Material: metal. Size: 7/8" W. x 7/8" L. Description: gold - cross shaped - red enamel cross in center on a white enamel circle background - white circle edged with light blue circle with gold lettering: "Licensed Practical Nurse" - green outside circle stamped: "American National Red Cross" - pin and clasp on back for attaching. Earned or achieved by Alice Eastvold Erickson between the years 1942-1953. Her mother, Millie Eastvold of Borup, Minnesota made all her uniforms. Alice was born in Montrose, SD July 19, 1912, raised in Borup, and died August 26, 2003 in New Richland. After working as a nurse aide in Ada, Minn., Alice passed her state boards and worked at St. John's Lutheran Hospital in St. Paul until 1953. Alice was married to Oluf Erickson of Hartland, Minnesota in 1953. In 1968, they moved to New Richland. Oluf passed away March 4, 1999. Both obituaries are in the New Richland Star.
