This painting celebrating Waseca Mutual's centennial is a letter rack still life painting, popular at the turn of the century. The paintings would often be a visual explanation of what the company did, and who they were associated with. Several U.S. artists painted letter rack paintings. Two famous practioners were John F. Peto and William M. Harnett. Mr. Soule has been painting sine 1984, and has also been a licensed agent for Waseca Mutual since graduating from college in 1985.
