Material: textile, metal. Size: 5/16" W. x 1 3/8" L. Description: purple, blue, yellow and red striped grosgrain ribbon wrapped around a narrow metal bar - three bronze stars attached across bar front - reverse side: straight pin with safety closure - part of U. S. Army Uniform, #1.98.397-399 - Victory Medal ribbon bar.
Waseca County Military - WWI. Found in left breast pocket was a note that read "WWI Uniform Fred Rietfort". He was a Private, 1st Class, John F. Rietforts. He entered service 17 Sept 1917 & arrived in France in July 1918 with the Motor Supply Service.
