Spanish American War Soldier's Knapsack. Material: textile, leather, metal, button. Size: 13 1/2" W. x 15 3/4" L. x 5 1/4" thick. Description: khaki canvas U.S. Army Uniform Knapsack; top closure with string loops on each corner of a flap that hook over side buttons; inner pocket also closes with a flap looped to buttons; brown leather straps, 2" W. x 18" L. attached to sack top with rectangular brass rings which hook into brass "D" rings at bottom corners of sack; black stamped letters on flap: crossed rifles with "B" above and "14" below and "U.S." & "27".
